Three rules control nearly every Brandon car crash claim, and they trip up people who wait too long or trust the process to be fair.

Brandon Boulevard, running through the heart of the community, is the road to know: it carries the area’s heaviest traffic and a large share of its serious crashes. Providence Road runs busy and unpredictable as it moves commuter traffic between I-75 and Bloomingdale Avenue, and Kings Avenue, Parsons Avenue, Lithia Pinecrest Road, and Lumsden Road add steady local volume. Brandon’s commercial corridor feeds into Brandon Boulevard and the I-75/SR 60 interchange, among the county’s busiest intersections.

Two years from the date of the crash, in most cases, under Florida Statute § 95.11 as amended by HB 837 in 2023. A separate and much shorter deadline also applies: you must get medical treatment within 14 days of the crash to keep your PIP benefits.
